# The Decide–Commit–Resolve Pipeline

## Purpose

Tony Robbins's framework for moving from **passive interest** to **guaranteed execution**. In the AI context, this is the psychological pipeline for moving past the [[claim-fear-of-not-enough]] and into the [[concept-resolve]] state required to actually adopt and operate AI.

## The three stages

### 1. Decide
Make a clear choice. The Latin root of *decide* is *de-cidere* — "to cut off." To truly decide is to cut off all other possibilities. *"Maybe I'll learn AI"* is not a decision.

### 2. Commit
Attach **deep emotional leverage** — a *Why* — to the decision. The Why is the fuel that pushes you through initial resistance: financial freedom, more time with family, the survival of your business, the meaning you want your work to carry.

### 3. Resolve
Reach a psychological state where the **outcome is a foregone conclusion**. Internal debate stops. The focus shifts entirely to execution and adaptation until the goal is met.

This state is itself a concept worth its own note — see [[concept-resolve]].

## Why it's in an AI summit

Tony Robbins's argument is that the technical learning is comparatively trivial; the limiting factor is whether the learner is *resolved*. Without resolve, the inevitable friction of adopting new tools collapses the project.

## Anchoring action

The physical anchor is in [[action-visualize-goal]] — write your Why on a sticky note and place it where you will see it daily.

## Closing line

The pipeline is summarized in spirit by [[quote-execution-is-power]] — *"Let your learning lead to action, and you'll become wealthy."*

## Enrichment context

Builds directly on Robbins's *Ultimate Success Formula* from *Awaken the Giant Within*. Adjacent in academic psychology to Self-Determination Theory's distinction between identified motivation and integrated motivation.
