# The 4 Levers of AI Success

## Purpose
A four-step progression for integrating AI into a business or personal workflow, moving from basic setup to full autonomy. Often paired with [[framework-3-levels-of-ai-fluency]] as the implementation ladder beneath the maturity model.

## The Four Levers

### 1. Activate — *Train the AI to know you deeply.*
Provide context, goals, voice, business structure, and audience. Stops generic answers. This is where [[concept-context-sandwich]] and [[concept-brand-dna]] enter the workflow.

### 2. Accelerate — *Teach it how you think and work.*
Use the AI to pressure-test ideas, find gaps in your logic, and speed up decision-making. The AI becomes a sparring partner, not a search engine.

### 3. Augment — *Let it create alongside you.*
Collaborative drafting of documents, strategies, content. Multiplies output without burning out. This is the "daily work partner" mode.

### 4. Automate — *Let it work for you.*
Deploy autonomous agents (see [[concept-agentic-ai]]) to handle routine tasks, pipelines, and research in the background while you focus on high-level strategy.

## Adjacent Models
- McKinsey's *AI Maturity Matrix* maps a similar Activate→Automate progression.
- OpenAI's *o1 reasoning* chain advances agentic Augment/Automate fluency.
