# Atoms vs. Bits

A mental model from [[entity-lior-weinstein|Lior Weinstein]] for determining what tasks should be delegated to AI.

## Atoms

The **physical world** and uniquely human interactions — things that require a body, presence, or genuine emotion:
- hugging a spouse
- lifting weights
- cooking a family dinner
- looking a client in the eye

## Bits

The **digital world** — data, planning, scheduling, writing, organizing:
- ordering groceries
- drafting a contract
- summarizing a meeting
- triaging email

## The Rule

Weinstein argues AI is currently strictly confined to the realm of **Bits**. Therefore, humans should aggressively offload *all* Bits tasks to their AI agents, thereby buying back time to exist fully in the world of **Atoms**.

This is the operational expression of [[concept-ai-human-harmony|AI-Human Harmony]] and the basis for the contrarian claim that [[claim-ai-presence|the real AI advantage is presence, not speed]] — captured in the quote [[quote-ai-presence|"The real AI advantage isn't speed. It's presence."]]

## How to Apply It
